Emmanuel Calligeris

Emmanuel has a Bachelor of Economics and Masters Banking & Finance and is Chairman of the GPS Wealth Investment Committee. Emmanuel has over 25 years in investment and financial markets experience primarily in funds management and investment research. He has in -depth knowledge of investment market operations across all asset classes including equities, fixed interest, property, alternative assets and cash.

His previous roles included Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of OptiMiz, the multi manager unit of ANZ/OnePath, previously ING Investment Management. He held the CIO role between 1995 and 2013.

Emmanuel’s CIO role included manager selection, macro-economic analysis and implementation, asset allocation, risk management, investment committee policy formulation, business development and business management.

Prior to 1995, Emmanuel held various roles at Optimix, Sydney Futures Exchange, Devon Systems (a SunGard company), Australian Gilt Securities, Bankers Trust Australia and Kellog Australia. These roles focused on funds management, macro-economic analysis, fixed interest, futures trading and dealing.

Dr Mark Brimble

Dr Mark Brimble is a Professor (Finance) in the Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics in the Griffith Business School. He has a Phd on capital markets and has active research interests in financial markets, sustainable finance, personal finance and finance education, with publications in various national and international journals including Accounting and Finance, Corporate Governance: An International Perspective, Housing Theory and Society, Griffith Law Review, Australian Tax Forum and Higher Education Research and Development.

Professor Brimble is an Commonwealth Office for Learning and Teaching National Fellow and is the recipient of numerous teaching and learning grants, citations and awards, including leading the team that won the 2010 Business and Higher Education Round Table award for the best higher education and training collaboration, achieving platinum in two categories in the 2017 Learn X Awards, and an Australian Teaching and Learning Council Citations in 2011 and 2016, and an Australian Award for Teaching Excellence in 2016.  Mark is also the Deputy Director of the Centre for Personal Finance and Superannuation.

Dr Brimble is a CPA, a fellow of the Finsia, a member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.  Mark is Chair of the Financial Planning Education Council and was Founding Co-Chair of the Financial Planning Academics Forum. He is also the Co-Founding Editor of the Financial Planning Research Journal.  Mark is also a foundation director of the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority.

In his substantive role at Griffith University Mark is Head of the Finance and Financial Planning Discipline.  Mark is also an active consultant to the financial services sector and government on a wide range of investment, education and policy issues.

Grahame Evans

Grahame has been extensively involved with the financial services industry for over 25 years and is a regular speaker at conferences both in Australia and overseas. He holds an MBA from the prestigious Australian Graduate School of Management, voted in the top 10 management schools in the Asian region. Grahame is a past CEO Investments for Tower Australia and head of corporate and employee benefits with AMP. At AMP he was responsible for Australia’s largest company superannuation portfolio. At 32, Grahame was the youngest Australian ever to be appointed to the board of an Australian life insurance company.

Rob McGregor

Rob had more than 18 years’ experience in some of Australia’s leading financial institutions before launching his own successful financial practice in 2003 in Noosa Heads on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Through his own practice, Rob recognised a need to give clients aged 35 to 50, who are considered to be in an ‘accumulation’ phase of their financial life, a simple, structured and successful way of building wealth for retirement.

From here he created Pathway to Wealth – the simple steps to financial success. The program achieved recognition as a 2009 Finalist of the Asset Innovation Awards hosted by the Australian Financial Review.

Rob now trains and mentors financial advisers around the country in building their ideal practice, working with ideal clients giving great advice.

Rob’s achievements in the financial industry and also as a business strategist have been recognised through a number of awards, including most recently Financial Planner of the Year, 2010 and national Top Producer in 2011 for his previous dealer group.

In November 2011, he was runner up in the Money Management Financial Planner of the Year awards, announced at the FPA Annual Conference.

Rob is a passionate surfer who is actively involved in the Marcoola Surf Club.

Ailsa Chen

Ailsa joined our Investment Team as an Investment Analyst in 2018, providing support to the Investment Committee in investment research and performance analysis. She is actively involved in our monthly Investment Committee meetings as well as other operational activities including trading, liaison with product issuers, and assisting with adviser queries.

Prior to her role in the Investment Team, Ailsa worked as an Accountant, developing a deep understanding of income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and financial disclosures. Ailsa holds a Master of Professional Accounting degree from the University of Sydney and is an honoured recipient of the Distinguished Achievers Award.
